SA Country Shows has 48 member shows and 8 member associations representing over 2000 volunteers from Wudinna to Pinnaroo, and Quorn to Mount Gambier, including all the peninsulas and Kangaroo Island.

Each year around 160,000 people attend SA Country Shows, which are held from August to November, and February to April.

SA Country Shows coordinates several competitions that run at local, association and state level. Competitions include:

State Finals for the above competitions are staged during the Royal Adelaide Show, except for the Young Rural Ambassador Award which is held in conjunction with the SA Country Shows Symposium in July.

The State Championships for the Young Judges and Paraders Competitions are also held at the Royal Adelaide Show, with SA Country Shows working with the Royal Adelaide Show sectional committees to run hotly contested competitions.
