2011 State Final Results
The Royal Adelaide Show was host to the Agricultural Societies Council of SA Inc Rich Fruit Cake Championship and Genoa Cake Competition on Thursday, 1st September 2011.
Jane Dewing was MC of the day which was well attended by over 60 guests including sponsors, state finalists, executive council and judges.
A highlight of the day was the presentation of Life Membership of the Council to Mrs Margaret Hurst (pictured right with Grant Waterman, President ASC of SA). Margaret has had a long and distinguished involvement with country and Royal shows through exhibiting in the cookery sections and in her role as judge of the cooking at country and Royal show level.
Margaret Hurst was judge of the Rich Fruit Cake Championship and Genoa Cake Competition for 2011. She was greeted with a line up of cakes of a high standard and provided commentary on the judging process as she tasted and assessed all of the entries to determine a winner.
The ASC of SA congratulates all finalists and prize winners on their efforts for 2011.
Grant Waterman, President of the ASC of SA, thanked Sunbeam Foods and Angove Wines for their invaluable sponsorship of the Fruit Cake competitions, and Laucke Flour for their commitment and support to the Scone competition.
The scones and cakes will be on display in the Goyder Pavilion for the duration of the Royal Adelaide Show.
